AMS Staff Leasing performs all payroll functions using our internet enabled HELM payroll processing system. We start the partnership by assigning a single client manager to each account. This client manager will then set up your employees and payroll functions according to your needs. Our flexible system can have you input payroll right from your desktop or you can send us a spreadsheet with the data to input. We can ship checks to your location or set up distributed printing right to your printer. We can also offer direct deposit and check cards if you choose. AMS is liable for all taxes and tax payments to the correct jurisdictions making your life easier in terms of staying on top of new rules, regulations and state laws. You will receive invoices and check registers. Job costing can be set up for you as well. With AMS you will receive personalized service, as well as flexible, efficient and accurate payroll processing to meet all needs.
- Workers Compensation Insurance
- Our main carrier used for most states is Dallas National Insurance Company. Dallas National is an AM Best “B++” rated carrier and is owned by the same team as AMS Staff Leasing. Because of this, we are able to focus on clients in the high risk industries that other insurance companies exclude. AMS purchased a $2MM deductible policy from Dallas National Insurance Company and our other carriers that are then extended to our clients in the form of deep discounts. That means AMS takes responsibility for the first $2MM in incurred claims and passes on the premium expense savings to the client.We also offer flexible deductible programs ranging from $1,000 - $250,000 per claim. The advantage to a deductible program on your workers comp is that most small claims are eliminated from their loss history. The higher the deductible the more it allows us to offer further discounts in premiums to businesses who except greater responsibility for controlling their losses.

Because of our $2MM deductible policy we carry, we actively manage all claims that our clients have. State funds and large insurance companies may not be as hard driven to manage claims and watch for fraud. We all know accidents happen. That’s why you have coverage. But we also know that fraud exists and have heard the horror stories of an employee filing a claim, getting approved, then bragging about how easy it was to get your hard earned money. We are here to protect you, our client, from fraudulent claims since AMS does not want to pay undue claims. By working harder than the other carriers, we protect our investment in the $2MM deductible and improve our client’s loss history and experience modifier.
- Unemployment Claims
- When you become our client one of the first things we do is look at how you are currently managing your unemployment claims. The importance of properly managing unemployment is often under estimated resulting in higher taxes being paid out. This can be one of the biggest ways to reduce company costs. State depending, either AMS or JCS will take over managing these claims for you. Both have a dedicated team of highly trained specialists whose sole job is managing unemployment compensation. They understand the ever changing laws and can implement time tested and proven methods that will reduce your state unemployment tax rate. This alone can result in huge savings for your company over time. Understand that this tax rate is an average and it will not change immediately, but with proper techniques and practices you will see it drop over time. We can help you achieve that!
- Co-Employment
- The partnership approach begins with AMS Staff Leasing and the client executing a “co-employment” agreement. This non-invasive agreement outlines the clients and AMS’ specific responsibilities, allows the client to legally partner with AMS and enjoy the cost effective outsourced services. AMS then becomes the employer of record for the employees and the client begins to enjoy the benefits that AMS brings to the table such as its $2MM workers comp deductible policy, its sense of urgency to fight unemployment fraud and all of its corporate resources. The client still directs the staff in its day to day activities, and is responsible for its core product creation and delivery. AMS assumes many of the back office tasks and leverages its economy of scale to deliver superior services. This is how we are able to provide our great Workers Compensation rates. By using a Co-Employment agreement we leverage our programs’ economy of scale by placing your employees into our pool of over 100,000 people. This translates into lower costs, reduced employer liability and reduced administrative tasks for your company.
